Service

We offer a variety of different volunteer opportunities for our members. While we also participate in several one-time opportunities such as the American Red Cross Blood Drive and Hot Chocolate 5K, we are most notably known for two major long-term volunteer events: Buckeye Tutor Team and volunteering with free health clinics.

Buckeye Tutor Team: Buckeye Tutor Team consists of a group of students that routinely volunteer at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Buckeye Tutor Team tutors and entertains long-term patients at the hospital. There are several days in the week in which tutors can report to the hospital, which allows for flexibility between our tutors. While some volunteers tutor only 2-3x a semester due to their availability schedule, many volunteers are able to tutor on a weekly basis.  Those who are interested are encouraged to apply at the beginning of the Fall Semester when the application is released.

Free Health Clinic: We are involved with two major free health clinics: Physicians Free Clinic and Helping Hands-Free Clinic. Volunteers help out when needed and engage as activities such as vision screening, working as a scribe, working the free food donation, etc.

Some of our other volunteering opportunities include:

  • American Red Cross Blood Drive
  • Hot Chocolate 5K
  • Slice of Columbus w/ Nationwide Children’s Hospital
