The next student spotlight is Fayme Gandhi! She is a 3rd year chemE, with a biomolecular focus, from Lima, Ohio. Fayme joined AIChE her sophomore year to be more involved in the chemical engineering community and found just that within the meetings. She is currently a part of the professional development committee and helps to put together events for students to assist them in reaching their professional goals. This past summer, she worked in Dr. Winter’s research lab developing nanoparticles for biological applications, specifically developing and understanding a new color that could be used for diagnostic tissue labeling for cancer. She is currently continuing this research project. Outside of AIChE, Fayme is involved in the Society of Women Engineers and HinduYUVA. She also participates in research with her physics professor, studying simulation of virus spread and infection. When she is not in the classroom or lab, she loves to shop, work out, bake and cook, read, watch Netflix, hang out with friends and family and play tennis. Keep up the amazing work Fayme!
