AIChE’s annual Chem-E-Car Competition® engages college students in designing and constructing a car powered by a chemical energy source that will safely carry a specified load over a given distance.
The competition, which involves multiple regional competitions and final competition at the AIChE Annual Student Conference, increases awareness of the chemical engineering discipline among the public, industry leaders, educators, and other students.
Congrats to the 2017-2018 Chem-E-Car team for placing 3rd in the Regional Competition! This qualified the team to compete at AICHE Nationals in October 2018. The team was awarded the Best Sportsmanship Award at the Nationals.
The team is now aggressively preparing for the 2019 Regional Competition to be held in Toledo in April.
Ohio State Chem-E-Car meets every Monday at 7 pm and Thursday at 5.30pm in the CBEC basement lounge. New members of any major are welcome any time of the year! Please contact Joe Gruber (gruber.160@osu.edu) or Izzy Benintendi (benintendi.3@osu.edu) to get involved!
