We are also seeking nominations for the Spirit Award and Larry Williamson Service Award. The deadline for all scholarship applications and award nominations is Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 11:59 pm. William E. Nelson Research and Travel Grant:
Named in honor of Professor Emeritus William E. Nelson, professor of Political Science and African American & African Studies, the Caucus awards a grant to support the research and travel of an outstanding graduate student at The Ohio State University.
Undergraduate Book Scholarship:
Undergraduates at The Ohio State University are invited and encouraged to apply for the annual Slater Johnson Memorial Book Scholarship. Students involved in the BGPSC mentoring program are not eligible for the undergraduate book scholarship.
Mentoring Program Scholarship:
The BGPSC Mentoring Program Scholarship is offered to mentees within the Mentoring Program.
This award is presented to a graduate student who embodies a passion for people and helps form community among members of the Caucus through their energetic spirit.
Larry Williamson Service Award:
Named after Lawrence “Larry” Williamson, Director of the Frank W. Hale Black Cultural Center, this award is granted to faculty, staff, and students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, unprecedented commitment to community, and offered innovative solutions to issues facing students of color with the Black Graduate and Professional Student Caucus.
Demetrice Allen Law Scholarship:
This year the BGPSC and the Black Law Student Association would like to honor the life and legacy of Attorney Demetrice Allen.
*This scholarship is open to undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing a law degree. Applicants must be a rising senior or currently in their senior year.
