What drew me to Buckeyes Without Borders?

I have always had a passion for providing medical care to communities in low income areas. After going on a brigade through a different organization in my undergrad to Cusco, Peru I realized how much of an impact a small group of people could make on the healthcare for a large population, and how grateful the local people are for everything we do for them. After undergrad, I wanted to be able to make an impact with an organization that does the same thing during pharmacy school. I am very excited for this upcoming year.

What drew me to Buckeyes Without Borders?

Last year, when I was a P1, I got an email about Buckeyes Without Boarders and their medical brigade. I read into it and applied even though I have never done something like this before and I also did not know anyone who was involved. I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and I am so happy that I did. It turns out I have a passion for global health and everyone I went with on that trip became one of my best friends. The trip made so much of an impact on me that I decided to run for trip chair and I can’t wait to go back!

What drew me to Buckeyes Without Borders?

I have always been passionate about learning about new cultures and serving the underserved in any way that I can. Buckeyes Without Borders combines both of these in a way that is exciting and rewarding. Being able to help and educate more people is what healthcare providers should be doing throughout their careers, so this is a great opportunity to learn those tasks.
