Dr. Kentaro Fujita (above left) is a 5th dan kendoka, club advisor, and professor of social psychology at the Ohio State University. With more than twenty years of kendo experience, Fujita sensei is one of the top ranked practitioners in the state and is well respected for his skill in kata. In addition to instructing at OSU, Fujita sensei helps train children and high school students at the Columbus Japanese Language School (JLS). Fujita sensei is also an extremely active member in the kendo community and competes and judges in tournaments throughout Ohio and the neighboring states.

Jyoshu Tsushima (left) holds 5th Dan in kendo and is an instructor at OSU Kendo Club. Jyoshu also serves as the current President of the East Central United States Kendo Federation (ECUSKF), is an instructor at the Miami Valley Kendo Club, and helps with organizing tournaments, exams, and other kendo events in the region. He has represented ECUSKF at the All U.S. Kendo Championship in 2014 and 2017.

Professionally, Jyoshu is the managing attorney of the Tenant Advocacy Project (Legal Aid Society of Columbus), which provides free legal assistance to low-income tenants facing evictions and other housing law challenges.

Alex George (right) holds 4th Dan in kendo, is an instructor at the OSU Kendo Club, and has served as the competition coach for the club since 2012. Alex has been a member of the OSU Kendo Club since 2003, was a member of the 2014 ECUSKF team, and held the Tournament Officer Chair for the federation from 2012-2014.
