About

Welcome Pre-Law Students!

Spring 2023 Membership Deadline: 1/23/24

Phi Alpha Delta (PAD) is an international law fraternity. Here at OSU, our chapter works to support our 250+ members throughout the entire law school application process. PAD serves the pre-law community with professional development workshops, free LSAT prep, networking events, essential application tips, and a vibrant social network.

We help pre-law students prepare for law school throughout their undergraduate studies. It’s never too early to begin thinking about law school, so we encourage underclassmen to join.

Meetings

Here at OSU, we hold chapter meetings Thursdays at 6:00pm in Lazenby Hall RM 021. At our meetings, we bring in speakers from law schools, panels of current law students, legal professionals, and test-prep company representatives to speak to members. These meetings are vital to getting acquainted with the process of applying to law school, understanding the realities of pursuing a legal career, and realizing the range possibilities that a legal education provides.

Members are also encouraged to get involved in leadership-building activities like volunteering in the Columbus community on weekends, contributing to chapter fundraisers, and joining a chapter committee.

We also collaborate closely with OSU Pre-Law Advising, which hosts regular forums and events, like the annual Ohio State Law School Fair.

Membership

OurĀ Open Membership Per Semester policy ensures that we connect all students interested in a legal career with the appropriate resources.

Chapter members are required to pay semester chapter dues to support OSU Phi Alpha Delta Pre-law chapter’s day-to-day operations and programming. PAD nationals offers lifetime membership, so those who join as pre-law students will continue to be PAD members when they are in law school and after they enter the legal profession. This policy also ensures a large network of pre-law students, law students, and legal professionals with whom members may connect. Prospective members may complete an application for national membership and submit a one-time Initiation Fee at www.pad.org.
