About Us

The Student COVID Alliance at the Ohio State University (SCA) is a group of motivated undergraduate students helping our friends and colleagues in isolation and quarantine housing on campus. We deliver personalized care packages to students with games, puzzles, and other activities in an effort to break up the monotony of isolation and quarantine housing.

Leadership

President and Founder: Gaby Del Risco

Gaby is a second year Biomedical Engineering major. Gaby and James started the club because they felt the students were lacking an immense amount of communication and connection, not even that they just felt it, but they saw how many kids felt out of touch when people started putting up signs on their windows saying “hi” or “help!” She wanted to start it and be part of it with James because she was personally affected as well when she was in quarantine, so she knows what it feels like for everyone there now.

Secretary: Sarah Harris

Sarah is also a second year Finance major. She initially signed up for this club because she loves helping those in need. She now has a larger role as secretary.

Social Media Committee Chair: Nico Cadena

Nico is a second year studying both Psychology and Journalism. He signed up because he knows how much isolation can affect people mentally, experiencing it himself. He wants to make sure those in isolation know they are cared for.

Outreach Committee Chair: Abigail Richardson

Abigail is a second year on a pre-nursing/pre-med track. She joined for the people with food allergies. She has a gluten allergy herself and she wants to make sure that people in isolation and quarantine housing are able to eat while they are in there.

Faculty Advisor: Tracy Stuck
