Operation Immunization Expectations

Vaccine hesitancy has become a more prominent issue that pharmacists and healthcare providers must face. Operation Immunization strives to be an awareness campaign designed to increase the number of adults and children receiving immunizations. Student pharmacists can help the pharmacy profession in the fight against growing incidence, morbidity, and mortality associated with vaccine-preventable disease.

    • 4 “events” per school year
      • At least one in-person event
      • At least one GBM
      • At least one community outreach event
      • At least one surge challenge (can choose from any month)
  • At least one event has to be done in autumn semester to avoid backlogging
  • Utilize the Operation Immunization Manual found on the SNPhA National website (snpha.org) in order to plan and organize the events
  • Plan and promote Shot@Life events to help donate vaccines to third world countries
  • Maintain strong communication ties with the SNPhA National Operation Immunization Chair in ensuring the viability of chapter projects and events and attend conference calls held by the National Chair
  • Work with other initiatives to plan group events together in the college and/or community
  • Submit event proposal plans to the vice-president and secretary as soon as the event is planned and finalized so the VP and Secretary can advertise the events
  • Submit event reporting forms to the vice-president and secretary no later than one week after the event has occurred or 2 days before the end of the month, whichever comes first. 
    • 3 pictures MUST be included in the report form the event to count.
  • Attend all monthly chair meetings. If you are unable to attend, you MUST notify the Vice President before the meeting with your excused reason (work does not count as an excused reason).
  • Engage in continued communication with the VP regarding latest happenings with the initiative
  • Must attend 6 out of the 8 General Body Meetings per semester (number of meetings subject to change depending on the semester). If you are unable to attend, you MUST notify the Vice President before the meeting with your excused reason (work does not count as an excused reason).
  • Each initiative has a $50 budget/year for materials/supplies for hosting events. Keep your purchased receipt and show the Treasurer to be reimbursed.
