In this week’s visit to The James Cancer Hospital, President Joe Biden celebrated the eleventh anniversary of the passing of the Affordable Care Act, noting on its impact to the Columbus community.
However, the audience was shocked into silence as then President Biden said that he was happy to be at “…uh, Ohio State University.”
“It’s THE Ohio State University,” one community member yelled, wearing a 2002 National Championship Sweater.
Ohio quickly took notice. Less than twenty minutes after the remark, the university was trending on Twitter, and latest polls by Gallup show that his support in the entire state of Ohio fell from well over sixty to just a mere twenty-two percent. In the Columbus Metropolitan Area – which voted for him as president with a seventy percent margin – that number fell to just four percent.
“I’m deeply sorry for the remarks that I have made at The Ohio State University this afternoon. I will be taking some time to reflect on my actions,” President Biden wrote on Twitter, hoping to win back the state he lost in last year’s election.
Meanwhile, his approval rating saw a thirty-percent growth in the state of Michigan.
