President

Hey everyone! I’m Elizabeth Ostadali, and I am a fourth-year student and the AIChE OSU President this year. As President, I guide our fantastic executive team to help them any way I can in their work or planning of events. I also serve as the main point of contact for AIChE’s professional contacts, advisors, and the national AIChE organization. I started off in this organization as a general member my first semester of classes. My first board position was next semester being the Intramural Chair. From that, I was also the Internal VP before becoming the President. From the beginning I knew one day I would want to become President. Throughout my first three years at OSU, AIChE has helped me so much that I can’t imagine what my day to day would be like without it. I was able to give back through my previous positions, and I want to continue through my President duties. I want to give all the freshman the same amazing experience I was given! I think AIChE can always strive to continuously improve, and I am incredibly proud to lead such a great group of dedicated chemical engineers to heighten the ChemE experience!

My Experiences

Throughout my schooling I have had three internships/co-ops. My first one was at General Motors as a fuel cell manufacturing intern. Here I had a much more mechanically focused term where I worked on torque programs and plant manufacturing instructions. My second one was at ExxonMobil as a Polymers Technical Intern. I was working in a chemical plant doing pure chemical engineering work on technical process analysis improvments, heat exchangers, distillation columns, storage vessels, and flowmeters. My third experience was at Procter & Gamble where I was an operations intern in Antiperspirants and Deodorants. I had multiple projects in safety, as well as loss elimination, around the manufacturing plant. I am very grateful and blessed to have these experiences and would love to share more with anyone who is interested! Aside from being involved with AIChE at OSU, I am a Teaching Assistant for Chemical Separations, an Engineering Ambassador, and a member of Campus Outreach.

My Hobbies

I enjoy being outside while spending time with my friends and family, watching and playing all sports, going shopping, trying new restaurants/coffee shops, and finding time to just relax in our busy lives. I have also started to enjoy road trips while I have been traveling to and from all of my internships!

Contact Elizabeth if you have any questions or concerns about AIChE!  She is always happy to talk with anyone about anything OSU.
