Dreams on Horseback

We worked with the organization Dreams on Horseback to provide assistive learning technology to veterans and children with disabilities. Dreams on Horseback is an organization which helps people with challenges through horse-assisted learning experiences and education.

Dreams on horseback did not have the ability to compost their manure to be recycled and turned into fertilizer but had to pay a company to remove it,  who makes great profit on the fertilizer. Dreams on horseback was in search of a system that could provide this service on a hill side near one of their barns. An attempt was done by a family friend but it did not work due to rain issues, manure getting stuck in gate rails and not closing, and not enough gravity to pull down old manure. Although a building challenge, this project provided huge cost savings to Dreams on Horseback.

In the future we hope to partner with Dreams on Horseback again to enhance an adaptive riding obstacle course in order to develop ones physical and mental abilities. We would with OSU PhD in Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy to design tasks that people with disabilities must complete while on horseback and building these along an obstacle course.
