Think Tank

  • Reaching out to people in our networks to identify potential organizations in the Columbus area who we may be able to develop future partnerships with

Preschool Solar Panel

  • Created a spreadsheet with various input settings and variables that can be used to determine the required power of the solar panel and Amp-hours of the battery for a given load.
    • In the future, the Preschool Solar Panel team will be getting more specific in determining how many batteries, the type of inverter needed, and other various parameters. We will also be looking at pictures of the preschool to help with the big picture and assist with future decisions

Home Solar Panel

  • Planned the organization and documentation of project progress files and goals
  • Finished the calculations for a theoretical solar panel selection so there is a basis on how to choose the most useful and efficient panel

Carrying Solutions

  • Materials team:
    • Reached preliminary conclusions on a lot of core components
      • Aluminum Square tubing as a frame structure is looking particularly attractive at its price point and strength
      • Figuring out the base material of the cart is going to be hard work but we’re trying our best to find good solutions, currently looking at using wood
      • Chose tarp for the GreenHouse Weave material
    • Began the process of scoring matrix
  • Design team
    • Discussion on the different levels of shelter required; the main thing we are working on is how to attach the arms and how they would function.
    • Created the Pairwise comparison function in order to weight the rating when scoring the Pugh matrix
    • Started making the Pugh matrix, thinking about other alternate designs that we could put head to head against the current design
      • The team will continue working on this next week

Creative Living

  • Creative Living is working on final deliverable documents to provide along with the final prototype. This will include a description of the purpose of the device, instructions for creation and assembly, and ideas for customization.
    • We were recently informed that Debbie, from Creative Living who we were working with to create our grasping project, has passed away. We are continuing the project in her remembrance in order to help others with her disability.
  • Next week, we are meeting with a contact from Creative Living to discuss future projects and reinforce our relationship. We are hoping to finish the grasping project by the end of the semester and begin an assistive rock-climbing device for Andrew in the Spring.

Compost Tea

  • Compost tea is looking for options next semester to complete testing indoors. Along with that, we are trying to reach out to some community gardens to figure out how we might be able to volunteer come springtime.

Meeting Reminder

  • See you on Thursdays at 6:00 pm on Microsoft Teams
