FAQs

1. When does OSUFSC practice?                                                              OSUFSC ice time is held every Tuesday, from 6:50- 8:30 pm, at the OSU Ice Rink (390 Woody Hayes Drive- right next to St. John Arena).

2. Is off-ice mandatory?                                                                                          Nope! It is strongly encouraged but if prior commitments conflict we always seek to accommodate our skaters.

3. How much are dues? Can I set up a payment plan?
Dues are $225 for non-competitve members and $300 for competitive members.
A payment plan can be set up with our treasurer. Email buckeyefigureskating@gmail.com for more details.

4. Can I still join if I’m a beginner?
Unfortunately, we are not accepting beginners due to safety concerns with our ice capacity. Columbus Figure Skating holds great adult Learn to Skate classes!

5. Does the competitive team do tryouts?
We currently do not hold tryouts for our competition team.

6. Is there additional ice time besides team practice?
Yes! See our additional ice time page.

7. I’m from out of town, and not an OSU student, where can I skate?
See the above link!
8. I don’t have my own skates, where can I rent skates?
The OSU ice rink offers skate rentals for our practices.

9. Do you offer lessons?
We do not currently offer lessons but we are a club open to all levels of skaters.

10. How can I financially support the team?                                                  We accept and appreciate donations! Skating is a very expensive sport and college students always need help with finances. The easiest way to donate to us is our Venmo @FSC-OSU or our donation page!
All donations go toward covering our competition costs and club ice time, and we are thankful for every donation.                                                  If you want to support us in other ways that don’t explicitly involve a cash donation, email us at buckeyefigureskating@gmail.com
