Competitions
The TROS team is currently participating in a variety of robotics competitions, with the focus for the 24-25 year being URC and CoSMiC challenges.
University Rover Challenge (URC) is the world’s premier robotics competition for college students. Held annually in the desert of southern Utah in the United States, URC challenges student teams to design and build the next generation of Mars rovers that will one day work alongside astronauts exploring the Red Plane.
The culmination of the Lunabotics virtual challenge will be the design, build and operation of a prototype Lunar construction robot.
About TROS
Terrestrial Robotics at Ohio State (TROS), formerly FIRST Robotics at Ohio State, is an active student organization, founded in 1996, focused on robotics challenges and supporting local robotics teams and events throughout the state of Ohio. Our mission is to gain recognition within our university as well as the Central Ohio region through mentorship, community service, and outreach on a local and national scale. We have competed in the NASA Lunabotics Challenge 2024, and are now focusing on University Rover Challenge. We provide mentorship to local teams of all levels, host and volunteer at official and off-season events.
