Members of Terrestrial Robotics at Ohio State earned accolades in their first year competing in the NASA Lunabotics Challenge, in which the NASA systems engineering process is applied to design and build a prototype robot. This robot would be capable of performing the proposed operations on the Lunar surface in the next phase of human space exploration supporting the Artemis missions.
The Buckeye Lunabotics team began work August 2023 and competed at the University of Central Florida from May 11-14, 2024. They won the Nova Award for Stellar Systems Engineering by a First Year Team, which is judged by NASA engineers and “awarded to team(s) who perform exceptional systems engineering in their… first year in the Lunabotics Challenge.” Great job Buckeyes!
