Networking events allows members to grow their professional network, practice interview skills, find internships, and receive job offers. Leading industry partners are invited to attend and network with students.

The Big Dish is an annual networking and fundraising event hosted by the Hospitality Management program within the College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University. This event is ran by students to thank local professionals within the industry and to raise funds to provide unique experiences for HMA members.

The mentor program pairs students with industry professionals for a year. This allows members to get a better insight of the hospitality industry and network with current industry professionals. Applications are released once a year in the Autumn semester.

In the past, HMA has traveled to New York City and Chicago to attend hospitality related conferences. Members have had the opportunity to tour hotels, restaurants, event centers, and more on these trips! (Postponed due to COVID-19)

With being a member of HMA, we ask that you participate in one volunteer opportunity per semester. These oppourtunities serve as great networking and resume builders.

Hospitality Listens is a student planned event. It includes a free dinner event for individuals on the autism spectrum and their families where they can enjoy a fun night out to celebrate inclusion and genuine hospitality. It includes an hour of activities with a group of trained volunteers to support individuals as they play. We have servers who understand ASD and are eager to learn from the families. Our team learns to apply what we learn in order to improve our community.
