How to Join

Preface

Greetings, if you’re interested in joining our organization then you’ve come to the right place! This page serves as a guide on how to join our organization and our Minecraft server, which we’ve designed to be beginner friendly.

Before you get started, we recommend that you join our Discord server as we use that as our primary platform for communication. If you have any questions or need assistance with the join process, feel free to contact us!

Getting Started

In order to join our Minecraft server, you will need to fill out the form below.

Make sure you are logged into the OSU student organization system, otherwise this form will not show up!

You can see if you are logged in by checking the top right corner of this website.

You do not have permission to view this form.

Joining the Server

Once you’ve filled out the form above and our team adds you the whitelist, you are now ready to join the server!

This next step will be slightly different depending on the edition of Minecraft you choose to play. You can find instructions for both editions of the game below.

Java Edition

(Windows, MacOS, Linux)

This section is for the Java Edition of Minecraft.

When you first launch the game, ensure that you are on the latest version of Minecraft (currently 1.21.4). You can check this by looking in the bottom left corner of the game’s main menu.

Sidenote: While we don’t discourage using modified versions of the Minecraft client, we cannot guarantee that all modifications will be compatible with our server. Just as a reminder, we strictly prohibit modifications of any kind that provide an unfair advantage to the player.

Once you’ve verified that you’re on the correct version, click on the button labeled Multiplayer.

Next, you’ll be taken to a screen titled “Play Multiplayer”, there should be several menu buttons towards the bottom. Click on the button labeled Add Server.

You will be brought to a screen with the header “Edit Server Info”. There should be two input fields which are labeled Server Name and Server Address, you’ll need to fill them out with the corresponding info below.

Server Name: BuckeyeCraft

Server Address: 51.222.121.129:25670

Once both fields have been filled in with the correct information, click on the Done button.

And that’s it! You should now see the server listed in the Multiplayer screen. Just click on the server, then click the Join button to play.

Bedrock Edition

(Consoles, Tablets, Mobile Devices)

This section is for the Bedrock Edition of Minecraft.

When you launch Minecraft: Bedrock Edition you should be at the main menu, click the Play button.

You should be taken to a screen with multiple tabs towards the top, click on the tab that says Servers.

Once you have done that, you should now see a server list. Scroll down the server list until you find a button that says Add Server, then click it.

A popup window titled “Add External Server” with three input fields should appear. Fill out each field correspondingly using the info below.

Server Name: BuckeyeCraft

Server Address: 51.222.121.129

Port: 25670

Once you’ve filled in the information above and verified that it matches, click the Save button.

You should now be ready to join the server! Just click on the newly added server then click the Join Server button.
