In the age of remote sidechannel attacks it is important to understand the security of both your software and hardware against an adversary that can not only interact with but also observe your system. We introduce the concept of sidechannel analysis and show examples of attacks and defenses for RSA and AES. We conclude with defense strategies you can build upon to test your cryptography implementations.
