Chapter Philanthropy

Every year, our chapter hold event(s) and fundraise to support the Franklin County domestic violence shelter and donate to our chapter philanthropy, LSS CHOICES for Victims of Domestic Violence.

LSS CHOICES for Victims of Domestic Violence, or LSS CHOICES for short, is the only domestic violence shelter in Franklin County. They provide counseling, shelter, crisis intervention, education, and legal support to our local community. LSS CHOICES provides a safe place for victims and their children who are living with an abuser. Their goal is to break the cycle of domestic violence in this community and advocate for social change. We chose to partner up with LSS CHOICES as our chapter philanthropy because we wanted more personal volunteer opportunities within our local community. By working with LSS CHOICES for Victims of Domestic Violence, we are able to get involved with the shelter by providing or serving meals, helping in the donation center, working with children, and assisting with administration work. We are also able to use our platform on campus to advocate and educate our community on the issue of domestic violence. Furthermore, we can organize opportunities for others to help LSS CHOICES by planning kit-making events or donation drives for needed items for adults, children, and families in shelters.
