What is biomimicry?
  • Biomimicry involves the emulation of nature’s patterns, designs, and strategies to solve human design challenges.

What’s involved?
  • Year long project with team to design a creative project, design, service, idea, etc. to address a global sustainability issue using BIOMIMICRY
  • Typically, fall semester involves brainstorming an idea and applicable biomimicry. During spring semester, teams will design and plan their ideas in detail, create all project components, and submit their final design to the Biomimicry Global Design Challenge. (The actual timeline for project submission may vary from team to team.)
Do we meet?
  • Teams will meet on their own: weekly, or biweekly
    • This is when you will be collaborating with your team to brainstorm, design, and finalize your project
  • The entire club will meet several times a semester (meetings TBA)
    • These meetings will be used for teams to discuss their progress, for feedback, and to share pertinent club information
How does a prospective member apply?
  • Email biomimicryGDM@gmail.com indicating interest, and a Google form will be sent out to you with additional information.
  • The new membership process starts at the beginning of Fall semester and ends in November.
