Hello, and Welcome to the official website for the Buckeyes of Public Health!
Buckeyes for Public Health serves the primary purpose of promoting all aspects of public health by empowering Ohio State University students through opportunities for service, personal and professional development in the fields of local and global public health. Buckeyes for Public Health also serves as a liaison to connect students with interdisciplinary organizations to receive hands-on experiences in the field.
This club is experience-based and structured in a way that is engaging and can sustain itself through years to come. It is dedicated to bringing the Public Health Undergraduate and healthcare communities together through support and guidance! We welcome students who want to make a difference in their community by providing you with the resources and mindset needed to be a public health advocate, leader and buckeye.
Our 4 Main Goals are:
1.) Professional Development: The College of Public Health offers opportunities to network, learn, and prepare for the professional world, post-graduation. We partner with faculty, professors, and advisors within the college to provide opportunities to grow and workshop outside of classes. Buckeyes for Public Health members do not have to be enrolled as a Public Health Major. All are welcome to utilize this club to support their future passions and goals.
2.) Community Engagement: Consistent volunteer opportunities that sustain themselves over time, will help strengthen The Ohio State University and Ohio community. Some highlights include Kicks for 5K, the Blood Battles, and Clean Up Columbus events.
3.) Build Friendships: The goal is to guide students towards building a foundation of support as they pursue their degree at The Ohio State University. This includes social events and the building of connections with The Ohio Public Health Association, College of Public Health Alumni, and more.
4.) Learn More: We provide opportunities to learn more about public health. This includes information sessions and the formulation of hands-on public health simulations, which are all presented by faculty and external organizations. We strive to serve as a resource to all public health minded students.
