Spring 2025 Commencement

Description: The college of engineering is looking for 2 volunteers to carry the college banner and walk graduates to the ceremony during the rehearsal and the day of commencement

Location: Football stadium

Date: Friday, May 2nd 1 – 3 PM and Sunday, May 4th @ 10:30 AM

Attire: Dress comfortably, robes will be provided.

Incentives: This event will count as double the number of Volunteer hours.

Make OHI/O 2025

Description: OHI/O’s annual Makeathon is a 24-hour event where students design and build projects of their choice. Industry partners provide feedback, and participants compete for prizes worth thousands of dollars. The event is open to all skill levels, with free food provided throughout the day.

Location: Fontana Labs.

Date: March 28th – 30th (various times)

2025 Scholarship Luncheon

Description: A luncheon where donors and their student recipients can come together. There is a group activity/competition that allows donors and their students to work together and have fun.

Location: The Ohio Union in the Archie Griffin Ballroom

Date: Saturday April 5th, 2025. Event starts at 11am

Shifts:

Morning Shift (8:30a – 11:30a)

  • Potential Tasks: Set out Table Tents, Programs, and Activity Kits; Banner and Sign Set-Up; Event Activity Set-up; Wayfinder Greeters; Ballroom Usher Lunch: You will be seated at a table for lunch; Dietary requests can be honored.
  • Speaking Program: You are invited to listen to the speaking program from 12:00p – 12:45p.
  • Activity: You are invited to stay and participate in our group activity, a Spaghetti Bridge Building Competition.

Afternoon Shift (12:00p – 3:00p)

  • Potential Tasks: Activity Supply Distribution; Activity Data Recorders; Activity Judging Staff; Banner and Sign Tear-Down; Ballroom Clean-Up;
    Supply Transportation Lunch: You will be provided a box lunch; Dietary requests can be honored. We may have available seats at tables, but you may be asked to eat in the Union lobby.
  • Activity Preparation: If you are assisting with the activity, you are encouraged to attend a preparatory session on Monday March 31, time is TBD between 12:00p – 4:00p. Encouraged but not required. We do not anticipate you being able to listen to the speaking program at the Luncheon as you will be checking in with the activity lead at 12:00p.
  • Activity: You will assist with the instructional and judgment portions of the activity. We will be recording team bridge data and then testing their load-bearing limits on stage.
