1/26 Meeting: Global Game Jam Brainstorming

Hello everyone!

This week, we will be revealing the Global Game Jam theme and brainstorming game ideas! The meeting will take place over Discord on Wednesday, January 26th from 7:00pm-8:30pm. We will reveal the theme, do some group brainstorming, and then potentially break out into tentative groups for brainstorming individual games.

The game jam will start on Friday the 28th at 5:00pm and end on Sunday the 30th at 5:00pm. This is the time window where you are allowed to work on your game. We will meet on Discord at the start of this time window to finalize groups, and we will have checkpoints on Saturday and Sunday for groups to share their progress. Do your best to submit games to the Global Game Jam website by the deadline, as late submissions might not be accepted by them.

1/19 Meeting: AfroDuck Guest Presentation

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to campus! As you may already know, GCC will be going virtual until further notice per directive of the Ohio State University. While this isn’t ideal, the health and safety of club members is of upmost importance in the face of the Omicron variant. We hope to continue to deliver interesting and fun meetings over on our Discord. Thank you for your understanding!

As a reminder, Global Game Jam registration ends January 17th. Be sure to register under our jam site if you would like to participate!

Our first meeting will be a guest presentation by AfroDuck Studios! The presentation will cover their experience in the game development industry. There will also be opportunities to ask questions, so feel free to prepare some if you would like! The meeting will take place on January 19th from 7:00-8:30 over Zoom.

See you there!
