What is Geocaching?
Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location. Every geocache has a difficulty (D) rating and a terrain (T) rating on a 5-star scale. The higher the number, the more extreme the adventure gets.
What we do?
Geocaching at Ohio State strives to create a community of Geocachers on campus. We hold monthly meetings where geocaching and social events are planned with the student organization. Day/evening trips are planned to find a specific set caches in and around the Columbus area. In the fall, we hold an extended weekend trip to find more difficult and unique caches. If you enjoy the outdoors, solving puzzles, and spending time with a great community, do not hesitate! Join Geocaching at Ohio State today.
