What are RAM clinic trips?
The bread & butter of our org!
What: Weekend-long trips to various cities throughout the US (mostly Appalachian & Midwest area)
Why: Opportunities to volunteer at RAM clinics to help offer free care to underserved populations!
Work as dental assistant

- Help register patients
- Make lenses in vision truck
- Sanitize dental tents and equipment
- Guiding patients through clinic
- Select glasses for patients
- Shadow and assistant physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals
- And more!
How: Trip timelines generally look like this…

- Friday afternoon – leave OSU for RAM clinic after class
- Saturday 5am-4pm – volunteer at clinic
- Saturday evening – explore city, club dinner together, fun activities
- Sunday 5am-2pm – volunteer at clinic
- Sunday afternoon – drive back to OSU
Cost: Roughly $75-85 per trip which includes lodging, gas, and majority of food

How can I sign up?
We try to attend 2-3 clinics per semester, & trip interest forms are sent out via email.
Selection is based on club participation, evaluated via a point system that depends on:

- Meeting attendance
- Fundraising for the Columbus clinic
- Individual goal = $50
- Group fundraiser participation (i.e. Posting bingo boards on social media)
- Volunteering
- Canning at football games
- Tabling for various events
- Paying club dues
- Generally about $25 for the year – helps to reduce cost of trips, fund Columbus clinics, social events, etc.
