Social Events
As chemical engineers, we strongly value our students to be more than just a list of courses and grades. Throughout the year we hold many events to allow our students to socialize with each other and make new connections for not only college, but potentially throughout the rest of their lives! The friends made now shape hobbies, personalities, careers, and even more. We hold a large variety of events during the year, a few of which are shown below.
Ice Skating
For only a $5 admission fee and a $3 skate rental, skating at the OSU Ice Rink is always a blast. Whether it is with your mentorship buddy or just your normal buddies, its a great time to relax and unwind from the stress of school. Light refreshments and snacks are provided.
OldField's Trivia Fundraiser
One of the favorite social events of the year, a percentage of all drinks and food bought at Oldfield’s North Fourth Tavern go to our student chapter of AIChE. Through the pizza and drinks, it’s always fun to investigate your friend’s trivia knowledge and discover their innate talent for singing through some good old fashioned kareoke.
Ohio State Sports
Sports is one of the lowest investment, highest return opportunities to connect with fellow chemical engineers. Our students cheer on the Buckeyes at home volleyball and hockey games! Not only do you get to make friends and watch the superiority of The Ohio State University athletics, but there is also free merchandise!
