The streets are alive with the sound of music as local student Kyle Addams gifted the homeless with the greatest way to discreetly listen to their favorite jams.

“One time, I had to do volunteer hours for some stupid scholarship requirement, so I decided to help some rando church run a canned food drive,” Kyle told us when we reached out to him. “On the way there, I saw this homeless guy, sitting by himself in the pouring rain with no AirPods, and it tore my heart in two. He looked so broke, I had to help him out.” At that point, Kyle generously donated his own AirPods to him, and it changed his life for the better.

“Suddenly, I realized what good giving can do. I had found my calling.” Since then, Kyle has spent all his free time raising money to “give everyone the ability to flex”. His most recent fundraiser was a rager with a bid war over music. “It was sooooooo easy. Everyone who showed up could donate money at any time to play either Mo Bamba or Sicko Mode on loop for 20 minutes. I raised $30,000 in like an hour.” That party made over $500,000, which Kyle promptly used to buy enough AirPods for the entire homeless population, which he distributed the next day.

“I distinctly remember going up to a cardboard box last night that held about 5 or so people in it, lifting up the front flap, tossing them all AirPods, and leaving as I said ‘You’re welcome’,” Kyle fondly recalled to us.

While the homelessness problem is far from solved, our campus keeps coming up with creative solutions to help out those in need. “I think I did everyone a real service. Those people are out there having the worst time of their life, and I’ve managed to give them hope. After all, it’s 2019, and nobody should be so poor that they can’t look rich.”
