On February 3, 1959, legendary rock and roll musician and singer-songwriter Buddy Holly tragically passed away in a plane crash in Clear Lake, Iowa, while traveling for his Winter Dance Tour. There are a number of theories regarding what exactly caused this sudden crash, which left a total of four people dead, and I’m here to tell you that all of them are incorrect.

The truth is, I crashed Buddy Holly’s plane, and you know what? I’d do it again. I’m not saying I was flying the plane, I’m just saying I’m responsible for its demise. My motivation? Nothing in particular. Am I proud of it? No, but would I do it many times over if I could? Yes. How did I do it? None of your business. I’m just here to say that it happened.

Some might ask, “How could you have crashed Buddy Holly’s plane? You weren’t even born yet.” To that I say, what’s it to ya?? I did it, and that’s that! Others might tell me, “You’ve never even been to Iowa.” Well maybe I didn’t need to be in Iowa! The most offensive thing I’ve been told is, “You’re just saying this to gain publicity for your failing Buddy Holly memorial merch business, so stop it.” Crazy. Now, I would appreciate it if everyone would just trust me when I say that I crashed the plane of a beloved American cultural icon and leave me alone, after buying some of my Buddy Holly memorial merch.
