Chai Annamreddi

I am a third year neuroscience major from Akron, OH. I started playing chess when I was really young and played against my dad a lot. Eventually, I decided to start competing in middle school and enjoyed it since. I competed in a lot of tournaments and won various state level tournaments. My current rating is 1893. I typically enjoy teaching about openings and middle game tactics. Some openings you would learn from me include:

    • White – Italian, Yugaslav, and Fried Liver
    • Black – Sicilian Defense: Paulsen-Basman Defense and Queen’s Gambit Declined

These, along with various other counter openings and lines for common openings, are some things that you could learn from me. For middle game tactics, I help people understand how to flow with their pieces and help them learn how to make the right move when they do not know what to do. I enjoy teaching one on one, as it is easier for me to learn about my student’s strengths and weaknesses.

Favorite Openings – Yugoslav Attack (w/ White) & Paulsen-Basman Defense (w/ Black)
