About the Team:
The Underwater Robotics Team is an interdisciplinary student project team that specializes in the design, construction, and operation of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) and Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs). Students from a variety of majors are responsible for every aspect of building the vehicles including machining parts, soldering circuit boards, developing software, and managing business relationships. These vehicles are designed for the purpose of competing in the international AUVSI RoboSub competition held annually. Additionally, the team created and runs an educational outreach program called STEMBot. Through the STEMBot workshop members go into local Columbus schools and teach children the basics of robotics. Recently, the team has begun partnering with Dr. Ziaeefard, to aid in controls research and looks forward to more opportunities in furthering the field of robotics.
Our Mission:
To provide students with the opportunity to apply hands-on engineering and business principles as well as serve the community via STEM Outreach in order to aid in career and personal development.
