HIGH STREET, COLUMBUS — Ah, the cool crisp, Autumn air rolls through campus this time of a year, which reminds students to get their costumes and stay frightened as Halloween is fast approaching.
From frat parties, to not frat parties, to the various collections of haunted houses in and around Columbus, there are many opportunities for scary experiences for Ohio State students. But this Thursday, get ready for the scariest experience of them all – eight of Ohio State’s acapella groups putting on a seven hour performance at the Big Bang Dueling Piano Bar.
What will begin as a 90-minute video tribute to Glee edited by the finest at the Olentangy Middle School A/V Department will continue with all-original tunes sung by the performing groups. No food, drinks, or alcohol will be sold, and the doors will be locked behind attending patrons.
“We wanted something truly immersive, and we felt this was the best experience to do so,” says Hannah Puckett, Senior member of Scarlet and Grace Notes.
Intermission will include a tribute to America written by the all-freshman class of Majors and Minors, including favorites such as the Star Spangled Banner, America the Beautiful, and Civil War Drum Beat 3. Guests will take the opportunity to stretch their legs, as standing during intermission is mandatory.
If you’re looking to torture yourself, head to the Big Bang Bar (1516 N High Street) on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 8:00 PM – all ages welcome. Featuring performances by Buck That! Majors & minors, Meshuganotes, Scarlet and Grace Notes, Scarlet Fever, Sound of Science, The Ohio State of Mind, and The Statesman
