RICHMOND, VA – In an attempt to compete with electronic nicotine products, Marlboro has released a new advertising campaign to try and get the youth to buy more cigarettes. The new character is known as the WoMarlboro WoMan, essentially just the Marlboro Man but he’s a woman now. We are pretty sure that a Marlboro intern just put a yassify filter on the Marlboro Man because the commercial still uses the voice of David McLean.
Jacek Olczak, CEO of Marlboro released a press statement stating “Cigarettes have lost their sex appeal. Now with the Marlboro Man being a WoMarlbor WoMan, we can hopefully rope more prepubescent boys into smoking cigarettes. Also we are hoping that the WoMarlboro WoMan can be seen as a hero for young girls everywhere, and also get them into smoking cigarettes.” In addition to this new campaign, Marlboro has added more menthol to their cigarettes at the behest of the FDA.
