COLUMBUS OH – Kristina Johnson’s mysterious resignation from the office of University President has left students, parents, and faculty with many questions. While the Lantern collects their profiles of Board of Trustees members, here at the Sundial, we provide real answers and have worked tirelessly to uncover the reasons for Johnson’s sudden departure. Thanks to an undisclosed informant, we are now able to give Ohio State University the full story it deserves.
At the beginning of the 2022 football season several burglars had been caught in the process of wiretapping the Michigan University locker room and coaches’ office. Authorities found them in possession of the Wolverine football playbook, several Buck-IDs containing over 1,000 dining dollars each, and the phone numbers of several Board of Trustees members.
These burglars were recognized as Ohio State students and faced trial against COAM, pleading guilty to charges of conspiracy and burglary, while several faced an additional unrelated charge of using Chegg on their chemistry homework. We reached out to the Board of Trustees on this issue and received no response.
The tenacious, courageous, intelligent, Pulitzer-winning investigative journalists at the Sundial had reached a stalemate in the investigation. That is, until an undisclosed member of the Undergraduate Student Government agreed to meet with us in secret. Bravely venturing to the basement of Morrill Tower, we learned the truth.
Kristina Johnson, former president of Ohio State University, paid several students $1000 in dining dollars hush money to wiretap the Michigan University locker room and coach’s office and take the secret to their graves. Unfortunately for Johnson, she included details of this conversation in a draft of a Notes from a Fellow Buckeye email. The Board of Trustees subpoenaed this evidence, and with such indisputable proof they had no choice but to impeach her. She resigned before she could be removed from office.
When we reached out to Johnson for comment her only remark was “I am not a crook.”
