Meet the 2019-2020 Unchained OSU Executive Board!

Rebecca Kuhr, Co-President

Major: Fashion and Retail Studies

Year: Senior

After serving for two years as Unchained OSU’s Treasurer, Rebecca is excited to step up to Co-President. She was drawn to the organization because it is a fantastic way to use fashion for an important cause. She loves planning meetings and events, educating people about human trafficking, and meeting new members.

Serena Kaul, Co-President

Major: Neuroscience

Year: Senior

Serena has become an anti-trafficking advocate throughout her undergraduate career. She worked one summer to develop a health clinic for survivors of sex trafficking and is currently pursuing a research thesis project on the intersection of sex trafficking and the opioid epidemic in Central Ohio. She loves how Unchained utilizes different creative outlets to raise awareness of trafficking and is excited to work with multiple community organizations to put on an educational and powerful fashion show. After college, she hopes to contribute to the progress of women’s rights by improving the field of women’s health.

Caylie Cyrus, Treasurer

Major: International Business/Marketing

Year: Sophomore

Avery Oberfield, Logistics Chair

Major: Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies

Year: Sophomore

Avery is a passionate opponent of human trafficking with an eye for creativity and design. Outside of Unchained, she serves as the Internal Social Chairwoman for her sorority, volunteers as an advocate with the Sexual Assault Response Network of Central Ohio, and mentors freshmen within the Health Sciences Scholars program. She aims to become a sexual assault nurse examiner, while still working to dismantle rape culture within our society and end all sexual violence.

Frances Kraimer, External Outreach Coordinator

Major: Respiratory Therapy

Year: Senior

Frances is very passionate about helping those in need, especially those who may be underprivileged or ostracized in our society, namely human trafficking survivors. This passion to fight for survivors began her freshman year of college when she joined Unchained and has grown exponentially with each new year. Her future goals and aspirations include traveling to Japan to teach English and afterwards working in a hospital as a neonatal ICU therapist. She hopes that in the hospital system, she will one day be able to provide the utmost care and respect to babies and mothers who have been affected by sexual violence.
