Like many other Ohio State students, I found myself wondering what to do during the week between finals ending and my summer chem class beginning… seemingly my only free week for the entire summer. Like others, I had plans for a fun way to spend my summer and when those plans fell apart, I found myself in a place known only for a gazebo and the upper-middle class: Medina, Ohio.

Upon entering this mysterious yet most basic American town on the face of the planet, I found myself entering a High School that I had never attended before and only knew one person who went there, someone who theoretically lives in North Carolina now.

However, I soon realized the reason I had been called into this random High School in the middle of nowhere Ohio was to be greeted by a group of real life Sirens, known formally as the Medina Choir. After being subjected to their enchanting melodies for an hour and being greeted by their overlord (who oddly enough had the same last name as a girl I know from elementary school…) Since that fateful day, I’ve been able to shake the lasting effects of those sirens and their melodies, still mimicking the dance moves from the choir’s acapella version of Lady Gaga’s ‘Rain on Me.’
