Flying Horse Farms is a medical specialty camp located in Mt. Gilead (only 45 minutes from OSU) that provides a traditional summer-camp experience for children with serious illnesses as well as their families. They offer a variety of camps, from weekend Family Camps in the fall and spring to week-long, overnight camps in the summer. Medical students are able to volunteer as Family Sidekicks (weekend Family camps), Cabin Counselors (summer camps), or members of the Activity Team (summer camps).
Those interested in volunteering should fill out the brief online application, after which they will receive an email to schedule a phone interview and complete a background check (at the volunteer’s expense).
