Ahead of the upcoming Michigan vs. Ohio State football game, public discourse has described the Thanksgiving-adjacent game’s location of Columbus, Ohio to be “…a little tone-deaf.”

The namesake of the central Ohio town being a man who committed a genocide has sparked discussion on both sides. Michigan fans have reacted negatively to the idea of this dichotomy, calling it “…kinda fucked up,” while Ohio State fans have responded, saying, “Columbus is named after Columbus?”

“It’s really insensitive to have the game there every other year. Hosting this event would arguably be more offensive to the Native American community than wearing a traditional headdress and forcing their entire tribe out of their home,” says activists from UMich. “They should probably just keep the game in the Big House so the whole audience isn’t uncomfortable.”

At press time, a malicious-looking Ryan Day was seen meeting Jim Harbaugh with a pile of ratty blankets.
