CAIRO, EGYPT—Experiencing the humility and wonder of Africa is ravishing, especially when you take the time to get horned up on the back of a camel. “The friction of his hearty hump was almost too much to handle” moans Pam Stephenson, a 47-year-old white woman in a chunky turquoise necklace. “Now I understand why they say that once you go black, you leave your husband of 20 years for the bumpiest mammal in Cairo.” At press time, Pam’s husband Craig can be seen still waiting for her at the camel tour docking area, knowing not of her sultry, nor his dismal fate.
