OHIO STATEHOUSE, COLUMBUS- In a recent partnership with the Ohio State College of Optometry, the Sundial Humor Magazine has launched an initiative to make vision tests accessible for members of the Ohio State Congress in honor of the 2023 International Transgender Day of Visibility.

In the recent political climate, members of state congresses throughout the nation have launched pointed campaigns against gender-affirming care for transgender and non-binary people.

Many of these politicians have been in their more senior years of life, which is known to take a toll on one’s eyesight. Based upon recent bills proposed by Ohio lawmakers hindering the rights of trans people living in the state, it would appear that older eyes may be correlated to outdated views.

Along with the free testing service, discounted glasses and other corrective tools will be available in an attempt to modify the dated views of the lawmakers and protect the rights of trans and non-binary individuals living in Ohio.
