OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT
Peter J. Mohler, PhD

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff:
I write to you today to discuss the devastating loss we experienced in Ann Arbor on Saturday. While we
all hoped that our Buckeyes would pull through and remind Jim Harbaugh that we are a force to be
reckoned with, our team returned to Columbus with heavy hearts and their athletic scholarships for the
next academic year on the line. As for Ryan Day, we’re sure this day will not be soon forgotten,
especially as Jim Harbaugh got to somehow experience winning from his couch. As we go forward, we
recognize that our students and their mental and emotional health are just as important as our football
record. Now that one of those things has gone down the drain, we must ensure that the others do not,
lest we consider lowering tuition for the sake of future class numbers. Therefore, we as a university
extend our deepest and most sincere sympathies, with Counseling and Consultation Services remaining
open for walk-ins for anybody who may need to talk about the situation.
A reminder that we at least won the Blood Battle, so our battle with TTUN wasn’t totally fruitless.
The Buckeye Nation is stronger as one, and we cannot and will not let this loss define us. Seasons pass,
the years will roll… how firm thy friendship… O-HI-O.
Now and always, it reigns true… Michigan still sucks.

Sincerely,
Peter J. Mohler, PhD
